Stramaglia Morale
It is quite difficult to find something useful on the web about the artist (s)"Morale". Even hours of effort of several search engines can hardly bring useful results. It is not certain whether the names Giampaolo Morale and Wanda Stramaglia Cerreto are behind the pseudonym. It seems certain (1) that the artist(s) produced for the Italian studio Leonetti. Furthermore, it is likely - if you compare the slightly different drawing styles of the individual morale productions - that under the signet Morale various artists from Dino Leonetti's studio were involved in the individual comic projects.
The drawing style under the "label" Morale is classical, clearly structured and without a wild picture structure. This style has almost no personal, distinctive note; probably due to the dictates of the Italian Fumetti booklets and the style of the house Leonetti. In some comic projects, the experienced narrator, author and fellow artist Tulli was on hand. The Leonetti studio itself was often responsible for the lyrics.
The comic strip stories themselves sometimes play in earlier epochs, for example in the album La Divine. It is about an opera singer who tries to survive in Europe during the First World War as a "Mata Hari double agent". The volume is also published in German under the name "Die Göttliche" (The Divine). The English translation was published by Cha Cha Comics. The comic strip story Ambre L´Impétueuse takes place again in France in 1628.
The sex portrayals in the moral comics are very explicit and form the main part of the content of the respective story. They cover the whole range of interpersonal togetherness and go all the way to "hard" bondage and torture scenes.
What is striking about morale productions is that homo- and bisexual scenes have also been incorporated into the stories. But what repels is the rather brutal treatment of women. Isolated scenes in which women are beaten have something cold, pejorative and brutal about them. There is a subtle difference between naked and bound women being punished with a whip within a fetish scene or being punished by a man with a fist in the face. Erotic is not the latter! It is also striking that individual images or characters from other productions have been copied and adapted for various scenes of some moral productions. Stramaglia Morale
Es gestaltet sich als durchaus schwierig, etwas verwertbares über den/die Zeichner "Morale" im Web zu finden. Selbst stundenlanges Bemühen mehrerer Suchmachinen bringt kaum brauchbare Ergebnisse. Es ist nicht sicher, ob hinter dem Pseudonym die Namen Giampaolo Morale und Wanda Stramaglia Cerreto stehen.
Der Zeichenstil unter dem "Label" Morale ist klassisch, klar strukturiert und ohne wilden Bildaufbau. Dieser Stil besitzt fast keine persönliche, markante Note; was wohl dem Diktat der italienischen Fumetti-Groschenhefte und dem Stil des Hauses Leonetti geschuldet ist.
Die Comicgeschichten selbst spielen mitunter in früheren Epochen; wie zum Beispiel im Album La Divine. Es handelt von einer Opernsängerin, die im Europa während des ersten Weltkriegs als "Mata Hari-Doppelagentin" zu überleben versucht. Der Band ist auch auf deutsch erschienen unter dem Namen "Die Göttliche". Die englische Übersetzung erschien bei Cha Cha Comics.
Die Sexdarstellungen in den Morale-Comic sind sehr explizit und bilden inhaltlich den Hauptanteil der jeweiligen Geschichte. Sie umfassen die ganze Palette der zwischenmenschlichen Zweisamkeit und gehen bis zu "harten" Bondage- und Folterszenen.
Es existiert ein feiner Unterschied, ob eine Frau nackt und gefesselt innerhalb einer Fetisch-Szene mit einer Peitsche gezüchtigt wird, oder ob selbige von einem Mann mit der Faust ins Gesicht geschlagen wird. Erotisch ist letzteres nicht! Hier erkennt man die "dunklen Pfade" der fumetti neri.
Auffällig ist ebenfalls, das einzelne Bilder oder Charaktere von anderen Produktionen kopiert und für diverse Szenen einiger Morale-Produktionen adaptiert wurden. Das war jedoch bei etlichen Fumetti-Serien - sprich auch im Hause Leonetti - fast schon gängige Praxis. Ein Beispiel am Ende dieser Seite zeigt eine Gegenüberstellung Morale vs. Manara. (2)
