Marco Nizzoli

wurde am 18. Juli 1968 in Reggio Emilia, Italien geboren und debütierte - noch während seines Studiums am Europäischen Institut für Design in Milan, das er 1990 abschloss - mit ersten Arbeiten für das italienische "Fumetti"-Magazin Alan Ford; Autor: Max Bunker (Max Bunker Press). Eine Serie die Luciano Secchi aka "Max Bunker" zusammen mit dem italienischen Altmeister Magnus (Roberto Raviola) entwickelte.

Von 1990 bis 1991 zeichnete Nizzoli sechs Episoden für die Serie "Angel Dark" (Nr. 1 (5/1990), Nr. 2 (6/1990), Nr. 3 (7/1990), Nr. 5, (9/1990), Nr. 7 (11/1990) und Nr. 9 (1/1991)/Max Bunker Press) und arbeitete für das "Luxury"-Magazin "Bhang" aus dem selben Verlag.

Recht bald folgten auch erste erotische Geschichten, wie zum Beispiel seine Arbeit für Edition Phoenix: Simbaby; mit Autor Giorgio Lavagna.

1991 bekam Nizzoli den "Nachwuchspreis" Albertarelli. Er traf zudem auf Massimo Semeria und gemeinsam entstand die Mini-Serie "Foundation Babel" (Fondazione Babele) für Edition Phoenix. Nicht unerwähnt bleiben sollte auch die Science-Fiction Parodie "Raymond Capp" mit Autor Federico Amico.

1995/1996 ging Nizzoli zum Monatsblatt ESP und zeichnete zwei Ausgaben mit Autor Michelangelo La Neve.

1997/1999 arbeitete er für Selen (3ntini Edition). Es entstanden erotische Comic-Kurzgeschichten wie "Il vizioso mondo di Keto" (The vicious world of Keto), "Il distinto Fleev", "La bella estate". Nizzoli hat - wie er in einem Interview berichtete - diese Zeit genossen, konnte er doch recht frei seine eigenen Zeichenstile verfolgen; losgelöst vom strengen Design-Korsett der Auftragsarbeiten wie zum Beispiel für die Max Bunker Publikationen.

Für den Verlag Lo Scarabeo entwickelte Nizzoli Illustrationen für das Rollenspiel "Nathan Never" und Illustrierte das Tarot Deck "Secret Tarot Deck". 1999 bis 2001 arbeitete er mit Carlo Ambrosini für Sergio Bonelli Editore an der Serie "Napoleone" (Ausgaben 15, 24, 30, 36, 44).

Für die berühmte Serie Dylan Dog waren seine Probearbeiten nicht gut genug und im Nachhinein war Nizzoli froh abgelehnt worden zu sein; um zur ebenfalls recht attraktiven Serie "Napoleone" - aus dem selben Haus - gehen zu können.

2003 entstanden mit Autor Massimo Semerano die Alben "Les Enfants du crépuscule"; mit Autor Michelangelo La Neve die vier Alben "Le Jour des Magiciens" und mit Autorenlegende Alejandro Jodorowsky der Band "Le monde d´ Alef-Thau". Erschienen unter anderem beim französischen Verlag "Les Humanoïdes Associés".

Nizzoli hat in seiner Karriere bereits mit einigen bekannten Autoren und Zeichnern zusammenarbeiten dürfen. Zudem unterschiedliche Stile entwickelt für Comicformate und Bildaufteilungen wie den italienischen Fumetti oder die großen Albenformate der französischen Graphic-Novels.
Mit einer unerhört vielfältigen künstlerischen Begabung ausgestattet konnte Nizzoli eine Palette an Zeichenstilen entwickeln die seinen Vorbildern zur Ehre gereichen. Darauf angesprochen fallen so bekannte Namen wie Moebius, Magnus, Pratt oder Myazaky.

Seine erotischen Ausflüge sind optisch geprägt von der Bildsprache eines Moebius, Magnus oder Manara. Nie vulgär oder übertrieben in den dargestellten erotischen Szenen. Immer elegant - mit Stil und Charme präsentiert - ganz im Zeichen eines Altmeisters. So wurden Nizzolis Arbeiten Démon et délices oder die "Keto"-Kurzgeschichten eine stilsichere Hommage an diese - seine - Vorbilder. Trotz all der "Nähe" zu diesen Künstlern, strahlen seine Arbeiten in ihrem ganz eigenen, individuellen Stil.

Sehr schade, das Nizzoli die erotischen Pfade etwas verlassen hat.

was born on 18.
