Loïc Foxer / Foster
is called Croizier, born in France in 1948 and one of the great masters of erotic comic art. After his artistic education in Casablanca, he specialized in costume and stage design, which brought him to the biggest opera houses in Europe. In 1987 he invented the comic-character "Stella" and presented her first adventures in the French magazine Bede Adult. His list of released albums is quite impressive.
Foxer's style is memorable and unmistakable, most comparable to Starzo's work. In France, Foxer has published in various comix magazines such as Bede Adult and Bede X.
Foxer's heroines, above all the BDSM-domina Stella, are mostly strong and self-confident female figures. For example, Stella has to solve the murder of her girlfriend in the fifth volume "Nuits sectrets" - usually in her very special way to "take things into her own hands".
Foxer plays a lot with the elements of the BDSM world. Domina and bondage games, lacquer and leather clothing, etc. In addition, he is not bashful in his sexual portrayals and the comic book consumer got "enough sex for the money".
Foxer's albums, mostly tell of strong, emancipated women who have found their position in the world and know how to defend it. This is often hard and arduous for the heroines, but they are always anxious to come out of the struggles and humiliations as victors. "Even if they stumble and fall - after getting up, they continue to rise. Always with their goal in mind".
Some stories take the reader into the early past. For example in "Fanfrelle", the story of which takes place around 1895, or in "Nana" at the turn of the century at the beginning of 1900.
Foxer's style is - as mentioned above - unmistakable, but perhaps not everyone's taste. His figures often seem a little "stiff and edgy". The black and white lines with pencil and drawing pen is masterfully executed by Croizier; however, the drawings often lack dynamism and peppy movements; especially in older publications.
There are some changes in Foxer's style to be seen when confronted with older and newer works of his. Especially the newer publications seem to be much more pleasing - "swinging".
The five "Stella"albums, as well as the titles "Nana", "Fiona" and "Tigrana" are recommended.
The pseudonym Foster was only used in some foreign publications (for example, Dutch).
Censorship report: The album "Fiona" has been censored in several publications. The reason is a sodomistic encounter with a dog. The actual "act" is not visible. Some of the pre-releases in magazines were shortened by cutting single pictures, sometimes even whole pages. The German album edition of "Fiona" (Comic Trading/Loempia, Magic Strip) has been simplified by two pages. In order to make some sense of the scene, two new pictures were drawn for page 16, which are not to be found in the French original edition. |

Veröffentlichungen unter/Publications with Pseudonym Foxer (Auswahl/Selection):
